Pay / Appeal Parking Breach Notice

Are commuters using your car park to leave their cars for the whole day?

20 JAN 2025

When a car park is near a public transport hub like a train station or bus depot, it is a prime place to park if you are a commuter.  Even if you are not near a transport hub, some accessible car parks on the corners of busy intersections can be used as a meeting point.  For example, four tradespeople meet at 7.00 am in four cars, they hog three spaces and then get in the fourth car to drive to work.  If your car park does not have good management, these cars take up valuable parking spaces all day that should be used for your regular customers.  Smart Parking has regularly come across this issue and solved it by:

  • Installing good signage saying what the rules are and stay times allowed i.e. 2 hours
  • Using ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) to monitor who arrives and leaves and, importantly how long they stay for

By having a great management partner for your car park, the selfish behaviour of commuters can be eradicated.  This means your genuine customers are more likely to get a car parking space when they need one.

A better run car park is only a few moments away.
