Smart Parking has recently teamed up with tech giant Cisco to deliver an improved parking experience at Curtin University.
Located in Perth, Australia, Curtin University is the largest university in Western Australia, with over 55,000 students being educated across five main faculties. As you can imagine, this large body of students, not to mention teaching and support staff, put some strain on limited parking facilities.
Smart Parking was selected to work alongside Cisco, participating in a proof-of-concept for parking technologies at Curtin University. An install of SmartSensors across bays in the visitor and short-term parking area was carried out in January and February 2018.
The Smart Parking solution will serve to provide users information on availability and location of parking spots through a combination of in-ground sensors and a mobile application. This information is harnessed using our SmartCloud platform, the open nature of which allows us to seamlessly work in conjunction with Cisco’s Kinetic for Cities platform.
The dual platforms enable the University to not only manage parking and congestion, but also afford insights and a better understanding of car park patterns, with the capability to allocate additional assets dynamically based upon policies.
Smart Parking Limited are a member of the Cisco Smart Cities Ecosystem which offers clients a fully integrated solution and a risk-free deployment. The Cisco Kinetic for Cities offering has been recognised as the industry leading provider by Navigant Research in an independent evaluator of Smart City Suppliers in its 2017 Report.
