Train stations often have multiple entries and exits that need to be carefully monitored with modern ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras. With passenger numbers often reaching many thousands per day, there is constant pressure on surrounding car parking facilities.

Problems and challenges overcome

The operators of the train station were fully aware of the pressures large volumes of traffic were placing on their car parks. They were in desperate need of a car park solution that would improve traffic flow, reduce queuing at exit, and provide the data analysis they required.

Solutions deployed

Smart Parking introduced state-of-the-art ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) cameras to each of the sites, connected to industry-leading Pay and Display machines. Maximum stay and grace periods were also implemented within certain zones for drop-offs. Mobile patrol officers were deployed for additional support.
